Each member of Merseyside Expressive Stitchers’ Group was randomly sent a postcard with a famous painting.
The idea was to interpret the painting into a textile piece using any technique they wished.
The embroidery could take any form- an analysis of the colours seen in the painting, or some of the shapes, or an interpretation of the work as a whole.
Due to unforeseen circumstances (a tree falling in high wind!) the competition was not judged until our January 2022 meeting. Everyone who attended on the day voted for their favourite.
