Merseyside Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild – Student Bursary 2015/16

We are very pleased to offer a bursary of up to £500 to university students working with embroidery or stitch, this is the third year we have run the scheme.

Members will have met Hanna Roberts, the first successful applicant, and seen her exciting work at our tea parties at Ullet Rd. Last year the award went to Judith Kent studying Textiles on the Design course at Hope University Liverpool and we look forward to seeing her work later this year.

Applicants can be studying at any university as long as their home address is in the Merseyside area. Students apply in the May of the second year of their course and use the award for their third year work. We anticipate the bursary would help in some way towards a final year show or 3rd year project based around embroidery and stitch.

If you are a second year textile student from Merseyside planning for your final year or know someone who is, please consider the scheme. Full details of eligibility, deadlines and how to apply are available on our website www.megonline.co.uk or by emailing the chair at chairman@megonline.co.uk

We are hoping for a positive response and are very much looking forward to seeing the work of the successful student. We are pleased to be supporting education and stitch in the contemporary textile world while promoting the Guild.
