Heritage Open Days 2017
Art Studio, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, Mount Pleasant, Liverpool L3 5TQ
10.00am – 3.00pm
Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th September 2017
Every September some 40,000 volunteers from across the country organise 5,000 events to celebrate England’s rich history and culture. It is a fantastic opportunity to see hidden places and try out new experiences – all of which are free to explore.
This year the Cathedral is delighted to support David Peglar from the Cathedral Art Studio as he opens the doors of this bustling department to members of the public for 3 days.
The Art Studio, which is responsible for the vast array of hangings and banners that adorn the Cathedral, will be open from Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th September from 10.00am – 3.00pm and visitors are warmly encouraged to ‘drop-in’. Simply ask one of our guides, based in the main entrance of the Cathedral, who will be delighted to direct you. An exhibition of Cathedral Textiles will be on display, as well as other items created by the Sewing for Pleasure class. Workshops will take place throughout the 3 days and refreshments will be on sale.
