I have about 20 teddies ready for posting, but my usual contact is no longer collecting them. Would you be able to suggest a new contact, e.g. yourselves? I live in South Manchester but am willing to post the teddies anywhere in the UK if necessary. It seems such a shame to have them here when they could be comforting a child somewhere!

I did try the Teddies for Tragedies website as many people suggested on Google, but they closed the site down a couple of years ago due to a possible virus and don’t seem to have re-established it yet.

Your help and advice would be most appreciated. Many thanks!

    Best wishes,
    Freda Eyden

Yet another wonderful workshop day was enjoyed by all those who attended the Golden Hinde or Nue Gold work embroidery class .We were very fortunate to have two such skilled tutors ,Sarah and her mum .
The class was well attended and we were a rowdy bunch to begin with but once Sarah started to demonstrate her technique on how to achieve the work she and her mum had produced, a hush fell upon the room, we were all intriged .
They had on display a wide variety of their work and ideas of how to embelish using Jap Gold .
They gave everyone encouragement useful tips and plenty of patience .
At the end of the session we were all able to achieve and produce our own peice of couched gold thread embroidery .Thank you again Sarah and Mum

    Hi,
I am contacting to hopefully find C & G courses in the Merseyside area.
I would prefer L3 in Embroidery.
I do not seem to be able to find a college that offers above course.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
    Kind regards,
    Jacqui

      Hello Jacqui,
Unfortunately we are not aware of any C&G Embroidery courses in the Liverpool area. Perhaps you could consider Distance Learning courses, there is plenty of info to be found on the web about this. Why not come along to a meeting of Merseyside Embroiderers Guild and see what we have to offer,

  40. Vicky says:

I’ve just read the latest account of Ruby’s charity; wonderful to hear about. The ladies in Bangledash fulfilled a special order for me this Christmas, a waistcoat embroidered with large and small hippos. These animals are a favourite of my daughter’s but the ladies had no knowledge of such beasts. Ruby took a drawing I found when she went out last October and the waistcoat was here well in time for present giving. My daughter loved it and was very touched by the care taken with the work. Thank you Ruby and all your ladies.
