Niamh Conway 2015 MEG Joint Bursary winner
At our September MEG meeting Kim Parkman presented Niamh Conway her cheque of £250 as Joint Bursary winner 2015. Congratulations Niamh!
Niamh Conway is a student at Liverpool John Moores University. She is about to begin her third year working towards Fashion BA(Hons). Niamh began her studies at Ravensbourne College of Design but decided to return home and loves the course at JMU. She spent the last year working on her embellishment techniques, and has spent hours hand beading and sewing lace embellishments on her garments. The coloured flowers in the photographs are machine embroidered and hand sewn onto the garment, and the white dress is a toile for a dress design.
Next term Niamh wants to try fabric manipulation and creative pattern cutting, and new ways of using embroidery and embellishment. She believes that the Bursary will give her scope to do all the things she is dreaming of with her final collection.
